Exploring Panauti
As part of an extensive fieldwork initiative, the NHDP Nepal team carried out heritage documentation in Panauti on 23 February 2026, bringing together representatives from government institutions and academia to demonstrate NHDP’s collaborative and methodologically rigorous approach. Representatives from the Department of Archaeology, Sandeep Khanal and Ramesh Paudyal, were present to monitor and coordinate the session. They were joined by local heritage experts from Kirtipur—Jeevan Kumar Maharjan and Deepa Maharjan, both lecturers at Tribhuvan University—who observed NHDP’s documentation methodology in practice. During the session, approximately 20 monuments were documented, highlighting the methodological quality and academic rigor of NHDP’s approach. The Department of Archaeology representatives responded positively, particularly noting the active cooperation of the local community and the effective collaboration between NHDP and state institutions. From a strategic and diplomatic perspective, the Panauti fieldwork was highly successful, showcasing NHDP’s professional standards and its commitment to collaborative heritage preservation.
